Youth Ministries for Peace and Justice (YMPJ) is now soliciting artists to propose temporary art installations for public display from July 2024 through December. YMPJ seeks to highlight artists who love the Bronx, have experience developing public art installations, and are willing to share their talents with the world. Please share this opportunity among your network of artists interested in submitting proposals.

What is the Soundview Economic Hub?

YMPJ’s approach to activating the space is grounded in the belief that free, vibrant public arts and cultural programming create a vital entry point for residents into larger advocacy initiatives. The proposed art installation in 2024 is part of a temporary space activation as a first step to build out this space in the upcoming years.

Once fully activated, The Soundview Economic Hub (SEH) will be an innovative space activation to give South Bronx residents, entrepreneurs, and food growers a community-oriented space to manufacture goods and offer services that provide resources, employment, and educational opportunities. The SEH space will stimulate the local economy by providing incubator spaces and classrooms for food manufacturers, vendors, and service providers, while also serving as a nexus for wholesale food and urban agriculture.
