  • HELP YMPJ RAISE $5,000 BY JULY 5, 2022
Support Summer Youth Employment to Activate Space for the Bronx Community Help YMPJ Raise $5,000 By July 5, 2022 Youth Ministries for Peace and Justice (YMPJ) has been driving community development that serves people since its founding in 1994. After many years of work, what has been a dream is now a reality: spaces are being created to support families and youth in the South Bronx.  YMPJ reclaims and activates space for the Bronx community. Our work ensures that our communities in the South Bronx are strong, resilient, and can persevere!  Help us raise the funds to support the programs and create opportunities we all want to see happen in these spaces. • “In the Bronx, a Push to Save Cass Gilbert’s Train Stations”
YMPJ’s work on activating the abandoned train station on Westchester Ave next to Concrete Plant Park was recognized in the New York Times. “The concept preferred by Youth Ministries would be to rehabilitate the tower in place as an ennobling park entrance, while providing a lightweight, enclosed bridge and walkway into the park, where the waiting room would be rebuilt as a year-round events and education space. This and other concepts have been developed by SLO Architecture with private grants.” Share out this article to support our work and stay in the loop on all our ongoing and upcoming projects for the community!
